For more than three hundred years, witnesses have reported mysterious lights floating and moving autonomously over the Paasselkä lake.
The Devils of Paasselkä is a short film about our relationship with the unknown.
Finland's identity, myths and its national epic come from the Carelia region. On the edge of this region, on what used to be the border between Sweden and Novgorod, lays Paasselkä, a lake resulting from a meteorite impact, on which compasses do not work. For more than three hundred years, mysterious lights have been sighted floating over the lake, moving around out of their own volition: The Devils of Paasselkä.
The film collects the stories of 8 witnesses and records the film crew's attempts to find and capture them on camera
